I found Gouri’s Goodies Assorted Energy Bites to be delicious, filling and a welcome addition to my pre-workout or travel snack roster. With each bite between 30-40 kcal, 2 bites have me quickly sated. Priced at ~₹20 per bite, it feels like its worth it. Keep in mind, the chocolate bites melt easily and most of the bites have dairy, nuts, and invert syrup. Also, it is for energy, not protein.
For a while now, I’ve been in the market for a good snack. Something tasty, edible, small yet filling that I could munch on an hour or two before my evening workouts. On most days, I would like to prep this snack. It would usually comprise fruit and some yogurt or a handful of nuts. But there are days when I get lazy, or just do not have the time and it would be nice to have the option to have something to go. I chanced upon Gouri’s Goodies as an Instagram ad. Gouri’s Goodies are basically energy bites, bars, and cereals created by entrepreneur, Gouri Gupta. After a little preliminary research, I decided to give it a go. Here’s my review.
OATS & ALMONDS, PALM JAGGERY, DATES, CHIA & MORE, DARK CHOCOLATE, MILK CHOCOLATE, ORANGE DARK CHOCOLATE
I discovered an issue that cropped up on opening the pouch, and it was all the energy bites with a layer of chocolate on top, had melted. So I went ahead and promptly chucked the entire batch into the fridge.
My favorite was the Oats and Almond and Dark chocolate, but I am of the opinion you really cannot go wrong with any flavor.
- Each energy bites is between 30-40 calories, so two of them make a great <100 calorie snack.
- Most of the energy bites use Invert syrup – which at the end of the day is added sugar – so its good to be aware in case you want to pick the energy bites (like the Dates & Chia) that do not use sugar at all.
- All allergic components – dairy, nuts, gluten are clearly listed so you can avoid them if necessary.
- None of the ingredients claim to be organic or all natural – so heads-up if you prefer what you consume be either.
